I heard that Boley is getting out of the HO scale vehicle business...mmmm, I kinda like their stuff.
For what it's worth, I was at my LHS a couple of days ago, and they had a number of Boley vehicles on the shelf for $ 6.99, real fire-sale prices. They were all modern-era stuff, so I wasn't interested, but I was kind of shocked to see those prices.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
When Boley entered the HO vehicle market several years ago, they were about the only company making detailed models of fire engines.
Athearn, and perhaps another company or two, are making comparable HO scale models today, so Boley's market share has no doubt waned.
If Boley isn't making a profit from their HO scale vehicles, they will cease production of them. Simple business economics.
