another involved in the music industry: british Pete Waterman, the producer from the eighties who put us up with Bananarama, Rick Ashtley, Mel&Kim, Kyli Minogue (The Locomotion!). He has a large collection of model trains, and also spends lots of time and money restoring the real thing: 1:1 scale locos, ( at one time he owned the famous "Flying Scotsman ") and is restoring ( or has restored ) the briti***ilting train the APT

I know of a couple. one was Frank Sinatra and another was Merle Haggard. Also recall a TV special where one of Indias Kings or whatever they call them in India had an electric train that was set up on a big table and they used it to serve dinner and cocktails. Also I have this nagging memory that John Wayne was into trains also. Then there is me and Bubba (>^..^<). [(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]. Oh yeah, lets not forget Walt Disney. He had a live steam layout in his back yard.

The bald guy from Murphy Brown (Cannot remember his name), and also Lynn Johnston's husband (he qualifies because his alter ego in For Better Or Worse shares his hobby) is actually a 1" Scale manufacturer.

In an interview in Sports Illustrated Kids, Emmet Smith now of the Arizona Cardinals said he had built a large model train layout. Also, the web site of Allied Model trains in Culver City has the following in it

more and more celebrities are getting into the hobby thanks to the
World Greatest Hobby Campaign, some are even getting the kids into it.
Alot of the country singers in the area do model trains.

John Foster Dulles, Secretary of State in the Eisenhower administration was an avid railfan and modeler. There is a famous photo of him in an engineer's hat and scarf, holding a model loco. Looks to be HO.

I was in Allied Model Trains in Los Angeles about 17 years ago and talked with Danny Deveto. He was buying some LGB for his wife, so he said. About 7 years ago in the same store, I talked with Kate Jackson of Charlie's Angels. She was buying trains for her grand children. She was dragging around a few small kids. Gary Coleman has worked in a few shops, like one in Orange County that is now gone and Caboose Hobies in Denver. I talked with Michael Grose at an operating session in West LA about 17 years ago. He was running a NYC passenger train on a Santa Fe club layout. He is the only one that could get away with that...LOL.

Back in the 60's Red Skelton was a huge fan of Marklin HO. He had a very extensive railroad that he built with his son.
