Just a quick note to say g'day from that land down under. I'm totally new to the model railway scene and have just started my first N gauge, something that I think could become quite addictive. [:)]

Welcome to the hobby, to N scale, and to the forum. Yes, model railroading can be quite addictive. So can the forums. [:D]

There's also more to the site than just the forums. For example, on the Model Railroader home page, down the left hand side are a number of topics that have either artciles or simply more links and information. And don't forget to visit the other magazine homepages/forums on this site - Classic Trains, Trains, etc

Enjoy,

Ed

Your kidding, the forums addictive? [;)]

Surely not! I didn't see any "Warning" labels. [}:)]

I didn't see any warning labels on the box of my last HO engine purchase either. [:p]

Do I need stronger glasses again? [B)] [:0] [B)]

I always was fascinated by your Pilbara Region, and it's ore trains.
Are you modeling local N scale, European, Asian, or North or South American?
Or is it Makin Island, makin tracks?

Gee Jim, I didn't think forum addiction applied to you. I thought this was your full time job. [:D] I thought your swing shift activity was just something you did to keep from being bored during the forum's slow time. [swg]

The warnings are there, and it's not a matter of stronger glasses. It's just buried in all that fine print stuff about forum policy that you just clicked on 'accept' and didn't really read when you registered!!! [(-D]

[:D] Thanks for the friendly welcome everyone. To answer your question Phil I'm actually doing a local line based on the sea port of Geelong, which is on the south east corner of Australia. The industry serviced by this line are as follows: Ford assembly plant, shell oil refinery, pivot fertilizers, and a woodchipping plant plus heaps of other little firms.
cheers,
James.
