I'm happy it worked out Thumbs Up...

I really learned a lot on this forum since last summer when my step-dad first introduced me to this wonderful hobby; so if I can help someone else, well it's just fine and dandy Smile

Have a nice day Wink

Hello, I own a P2 J1e Hudson and I had the same rattle problem in the tender, I simply applied 1 layer of electrical tape on each of the longest sides of the tender; I applied the tape just where the tender box meets the flat part.

My Hudson now runs smoothely with no tender rattles.

I hope this helps.

Thanks very much, I will try this tonight.

Tender rattle...where do I put the electrical tape again?

Hey guys, I picked up a blue line T1 duplex today and with every chuff there is the worst, loudest rattle and vibration, if I blow the horn its ear piercing.

I remember a little while back we were discussing a similar problem with the blue line M1a, and I think someone said the solution was to line the inside of the tender with electrical tape.

A few questions, when you say 'inside', which spots specifically, could you be as detailed as possible? Secondly, how much electrical tape (how many layers of strips I mean)? And also, why exactly is this supposed to help?

And lastly, why is it that some engines seem to have the worst rattle when the sound turns on, yet others never have this problem, it seems like the worst offenders are the T1 and M1 in the blue line series. I have operated the paragons without any noticeable problems, what went 'wrong' in the manufacturing process (for curiousity's sake).

Btw, I am running this engine on DC, I don't have a decoder yet, so I don't know if there is a way to turn down the volume (I'm not sure if this would help).

This seems like a very perplexing problem that I have had with several, otherwise perfect locomotives. Confused
