Sandy,

I've used KATO UniTrack for years with no problems. Connections are solid and assembly is a no-brainer. The only problem to date has been the plastic tabs which secure the rail to the ties--some have broken, rendering the section useless. I suspect this is common however and should not be taken as a thumbs down to KATO. Overall I've been very pleased with the look and quality of the product. [:)]

I have seen several fine permanent N scale layouts built with Kato track. Like all sectional track, it limits what can be done due to its geometry.

With a little effort, it can be mixed with othe brands to achive more flexibility. I am building T-Trak compatible switching layout using Peco switches and a mixture of Atlas, Peco, and Kato track.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.
