Saw an unusual string of cars today
Posted by brothaslide on Friday, June 11, 2004 8:00 PM
I was near Santa Barbara, CA on 101 today and I saw an interesting string of cars in a frieght on the UP main line. The cars looked like coal cars with roofs from auto rack cars. There was also this custom metal framing on the sides of each car (similar to a latter rack you would see on a contractors truck).

Anybody have any idea what these cars are and what they are used for?

I have seen similar cars. The ones I saw are basically coal cars with white tops attached. They had signs on them stating they contained material with low level radiation. The UP main runs through my back yard. That would explain the third arm I'm growin.[:D][B)]
