Dave Frary's book - How to Build Realistic Model RR Scenery (Kalmbach Pub.) has a whole chapter on backdrops.

Walthers (and others) sell ready to use printed backgrounds, which must be mounted on some sort of backdrop. What is used for the backdrop will depend on whether or not it is up against the wall or free standing. Most books on scenery describe how to to this.

I'm interested in making a backdrop for my '70s era small town. Are there any kits or books out there to help with this? If not does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
