Meet buZ blurr!

Recently over on the Trains Magazine forum someone posted a link to an interesting website. I went and checked it out and discovered this collection of works by the artist who goes by the name buZ blurr.

http://www.northbankfred.com/buz2.html

This guy isn't your classic "spray bomber", I believe he's a traveler. His mark is small, done usually in chalk, and simply says "I was here". From the looks of the collection, he's been doing this for years.

As many of you know, I have a certain fascination with graffiti, and a romantic passion for it that most of you don't share. On one of my recent trips to the tracks, I cranked off a number of shots of cars that featured colorful works. Once again, when I got home and uploaded the contents of the camera, nothing special caught my eye.

In a moment of boredom, I decided to pick a shot from my collection and use my photo editor to isolate the image of the graffiti. It was totally by accident that I caught it, and took me completely by surprise when I discovered it. There next to a large colorful tag was one of the many works of buZ blur!

It really is a small world!!![swg]

Hey guys, thanks for finding this topic. I had to change the title, it was getting looks but no responses. I don't know how far you followed along on that link, but it goes on for 60 pages of 10 cars each, all different. This one was not among them. Makes you wonder just how many cars this guy has marked.

This is kind of like marking dollar bills, and seeing if one comes back to you. I think buZ is going to find his way onto my layout. Maybe I'll do a where's Waldo kind of thing, and have him riding on a freight car.[swg]

You gave me another thing to look for while out railfanning. Stuff like thtis is what draws me into the hobby. Finding rare and unique items and capturing them on film. It's also a thing I like to showcase in my layout. I find a couple fallen flags offers interest to a train running on my layout. Thanks Big_boy_4005 for posting it. Have you put it up on the Trains board I'm sure they would find it interesting also.

Hey Andrew, congrats on post #100. Glad you enjoyed this. I thought about putting this up over on Trains, but I don't want Ed to blow a gasket (again). Being a real railroader, Ed doesn't take kindly to hobos, and the link is to a website that I think he would strongly disapprove of. If I remember correctly, I saved this link before before Bergie deleted the topic that lead me to it.

You see, there was this topic about freight hopping, which is both dangerous and illegal. Ed and some of the others really took offense when Railrover posted pictures showing his travels. Railrover actually joined and started posting on one of my graffiti topics. He was the one who posted this link. I thought it was cool, not from the prespective of doing it, but just hearing about it. Well, I ended up stepping right into the middle of that one too, trying to break it up between Ed and Railrover. It was really no contest, because Ed had the moral highground, and as much as I wanted to defend Railrover, I knew it was the wrong position to take from a responsibility point of view.

We can get away with discussing this kind of stuff over here on MR. You learn this kind of stuff after a while. Know your audience, and learn from past experience. You see, these silly stars can have meaning.[swg]

Hey Big_boy_4005 Thanks on the congrats.I won't get into the stars thing as I was a part of that fight, but I do realize that most of the time they mean a lot.
I should have realized that is would open up a can off worms on the trains forum. As did the Graffiti posts opened up one on this forum.

I almost felt guilty posting another graffiti related topic, but it was much softer and less provocative. There was a story that I wanted to share here. It wasn't really open to or seeking opinions, so there was a lot less chance for trouble. I kind of figured that there would still be a few people that would find this interesting. The goal here, have fun!!! [swg]
