Maybe Saturday..Not sure because my hobby budget is in the Red ink zone for this month.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
I will probably go. I'm not sure yet what day, but most likely Saturday.
I'll probably bring the grandson too.

Thinking about it. Not sure what day or even if I will go. It is a long drive for me from medina. I do need some parts for an american flyer that may spur my drive up that way. my funds are way in the red since I lost my job in november so that is another reason not to go. But I have never been and have always wanted to go so that is a big draw to go no that I have some time. OHHHH I can't decide.
alco's forever!!!!! Majoring in HO scale Minorig in O scale:)
The CEO (wife) and I plan on coming Saturday and are bringing friends. I look forward to this show every year.

For those of you who are going, I'll be wearing my black New York Central cap with the vintage herald and a red NYC pin on my jacket. If you see a tall, ugly dude wearing glasses donning the aforementioned on Saturday, please don't hesitate to say hi.
Hello I will be there on saturday when the doors open. And I will have on a gray sweat shirt and blue ball cap that says #1 dad. If you see me say hi. They have a fair amount all scales there. Hope to see you there Frank
Made up my mind and will be attending with jktrains. we will be there at 10.
We (the Steubenville area ORNRy group) try to attend yearly.
I am planning to attend Sunday in the AM. How was the show on saturday.
Wayne
Wayne,
Overall, I thought it was a good show and I pretty much spent the entire day there - i.e. 10:15 AM - 4:00 PM.
It was nice to see some new vendors this time around. It also seemed that the returning vendors were either down this year, or they had been shuffled around to different locations.
Although I didn't pick up one, I did like the wood craftsman bridge kits by Hunterline. Rick and Maureen were very nice folks and it was their first year at the show. Both they and Bob's Photos (on the opposite side of the gym) had a wonderful selection of dimensional wood and detailing products. The Northeast Scale Lumber Co. shingles looked fantastic!
The usual HO and N-scale layouts were set up in the main gym area and were fun to watch. I enjoyed both the point-to-point and continuous run S-scale layouts though. And the G-scale Climax or Shay was really fun to see in operation.
Items I wasn't looking for but ended up buying:
I haven't put together kits from either of these two companies before. However, I have heard that they make a very good product so I'm looking forward to seeing them when they're completed.* The mugs we'll enjoy using with our tea.
*It's a sad reality that it seems that kits are getting fewer and fewer these days at LHSes and train shows in preference to RTR.
Items I was looking for but didn't find:
Items I was tempted to buy but chose to pass on:
Lastly and I've mentioned this in past years: The best part of any train show - for me - is meeting other modelers. I always enjoy meeting up with Frank (0-6-0) and we chatted for a good 15 minutes today. Another forum member (who stated he doesn't post here often) also introduced himself briefly in passing when I was looking at kits but I've forgotten his name. I also met and talked to a number of vendors, club members, and other patrons about all sorts of things.
Again, overall, it was a good and enjoyable show for me and worth the entire $7 entry fee.
Tom,
I was the forum member that said hello to you. Would like to have talked more, but you had a good conversation going with someone else. Sorry I interrupted you, but I just had to say hello.
Bud
Hey Bud,
I very much appreciated your "interruption" and I'm glad you at least said hi. However, you would have been more than welcome to join the conversation. Did you find anything worthwhile at the show?
I got an O scale MTH Santa Fe dash 8 cab number 7445 with qsi sound from the whistle stop booth for $25.00. Knowing it had moving issues. It sounds good on idle but does not move or give any other sounds. I am guessing something fried in the board. I unhooked the motors from the board and tested them seperately and it creeped right along nice and slow. It will be a nice addition for around the ol chrismas tree If I ever get it fixed.
I also picked up the start of my modern logging layout. I got a log skidder(looks to be a jonh deere) by resin unlimited for $15.00 and a log loader from ghq models for $18.00. I had a log truck in my hand and a wood chip truck in my hand but she would not budge on the prices. My wallet was slim so I put the chip truck back( as I have 3 walthers woodchip cars) and I put back the truck. Probably should have gotten the truck. Oh well. I was looking for a couple other things to finish some repair projects but did not come up with what I was looking for. Passed on a walthers ready built and weathered shed complex with forklift for $18.00(should have gotten that) and the walthers lumber building and sawmill complex for like $24.99(should have gotten that too). But I was there to find projects to sell next winter so I kept the cash close to the back pocket. Maybe next year when I have a job again.
It was neat to see the n scale sectional layout with the logging section that had double backs and the mine scene that had track that ran under the mainline tracks. The point to point s scale layout was pretty cool as well. The circle s scale was ok as well. Not too impressed with the ho servings on the running layouts. The wood trestels and snowsheds were WAY cool. Seen them last year at the cleveland show for worlds greatest hobby on tour.
Thanks for the kind words. Next year, we'll get together for a small discussion.
I went up there looking for two specific reefers, found them both, and added one more to the total.
Also picked up a container of Woodland Scenics ballast.
Four of us made the trip; two live in Steubenville and two live in the northern panhandle of WV. We try to get there every year. It usually is a very nice show.
Hello I had a nice time at the show saturday. I met Steve in line he does not post here but reads through from time to time and I got to talk to Tom for few. I found a few things I was looking for. Found a Wheel Works 34 ford stake bed truck kit 20$, Sylvan 37 flatbed truck $16.75, FSM freight house kit for 70$ and I pickup a brass 4-4-0 D-16Sb made by Samhongsa for 150$. All in all it was a good show. Have a nice day Frank
Hello Frank I am the Steve you met in line, figured I would give this posting a try. Probably still more of a reader than a talker, but I did enjoy speaking with you and did pick up a few things there. Thanx again Steve
Hello Steve and to the forum. That's ok if you read or talk you can jump in any time you like. What kind of goodies did you find at the show? We were to busy talking about roofing I forgot to ask what road you model? Me I am trying to stay with NYC and some B&O but doing so well. Have a nice day Frank
Hello Frank Two postings, this is likely to start a pattern. Found a few N scale things there, it was quite crowded. I like the B&O and the AC&Y, started with a Postage Stamp set Christmas Day 1967 and been adding since. Going to the Dalton, OH show this morning, it has been become quite a large show and well worth attending. Thanx Steve
