BNSF business cars

Greetings,

Did BNSF repaint their business cars after the Santa Fe merger?

If so what paint scheme? Any photos of them anywhere?

And where are they stored when not in use? DFW?

I just happen to have some photos of some of the cars in question. The photos are from December of 1991, when my ex wife and I visited Dallas. I managed to catch 5 cars near downtown, 3 in the BNSF executive paint, and 2 still in their cascade green and white. Stevens Pass, Stampede Pass, and Glacier View in the beige, dark green and maroon. Como, and Lake Superior in the green and white.

I don't really know much about them, just the photos. I'll have to scan them in and post them for you in the next day or so.

On the Video Frisco-1522 Galloping through Texas, the BNSF Business cars have several Former BN Cars in teh consist, All the single Level Cars have been given Fluted Siding and are now stainless Steel. THe Hi-Level Cars are painted Aluminum.

The former BN smooth side cars have fluting above and below the windows and are painted Platinum Mist along the window band, roof, ends and underframe and trucks, the former Budd diner and Mississipi River are in natural stainless steel finish and the window band on the Mississippi River is painted Platinum Mist. The Glacier View is in natural Stainless Steel fininsh, however, has Pullman Standard fluting on the sides instead of the correct Budd Fluting. The Stevens Pass is no longer on the BNSF. The former Santa Fe PSCM/ATSF built baggage car 77 is painted in Platinum Mist. The Former ATSF lounge, diner, dome lounge, Regeal Series sleepers, William B Strong, business cars Atchison,Topeka Santa Fe and John S Reed/Mountainaire are in natural stainless steel fininsh. I am fortunate in that I live in Topeka KS, where the cars are based and maintained.

Good Topic! My wife's cousin is a BNSF "nut". He's very interested in modeling a BNSF "Business Train" after I gave him a Con-Cor Santa Fe 85ft. passenger car and explained to him that BNSF does run business trains several times a year. This train also uses streamlined ex-Santa Fe cars. Interesting thing is that the business or "officers" train will sometimes be coupled onto the back of a "hotshot" intermodal train instead of always being hauled by itself .
