In my opinion

I think that more companies should make models of turbines, with accurate sound systems. I'm a sucker for turbines! But, there are little to no Ready to Run models out there. Does anybody else share the same opinion?

No, how many real ones ever existed? Model manufacturers are in business to make money, not to make a few people happy.

I hear ya, TrainFreak

I've been complaining about the lack of certain units myself, but I learned years ago at the trainsit company I worked at, an old timer told me something that really "stuck" in my head when I was complaining about the lack of equipment:

"Well, Ya gotta work with wottcha got!"

I sometimers have to think back to that when I complain about the lack of decent cowl units. They're available, but it requires me to transform into "craftsman mode" and "git to work"!

As BigBoy indicates, the manufacturers are prioritizing "profit potential" first. So they're going to produce models that have wide appeal. As frustrating as it is, that's why we've seen so many F7s, SD40s and -2s as well as countless GEs.

For now, you might just have to settle for the new turbine that hit the market recently. At least it has sound! Someone posted their turbine with sound on this forum. I clicked on it. Very impressive!

And you have to remember, just a few years ago, sound itself was a "distant fantasy".

Keep you chin up and 10-4! [:)][:D]

That'll be like saying companies should be making prototypically correct CP & CN equipment in a mass produced model.
Not a who lot of people want them to make it a commercially viable option for any company.
As Elliot said, the model railroad manufacturers are out to make money

But that's my opinion
