Quoted by tomwatkins:
I'm also a Vietnam combat veteran, a former Marine. Georgia Boy, What a wonderful, magnificent way to remember and honor them.

Thanks Tom. I always thought it was very befitting to their memory. You were in the Marines, I was in the Army, we both were in that war for the same reason, and we both had friends that never returned. Who knows, maybe we both traveled over some of the same real estate as well. Welcome home, brother.

I'm also a Vietnam combat veteran, a former Marine. Thanks to all of you for caring enough to say thanks. It really helps. Please remember the troops that are serving now. They need our thoughts, prayers and they will need to hear us say thank you as they come home.

Georgia Boy,
What a wonderful, magnificent way to remember and honor them.

Thanks,
Tom Watkins

Thank you!

War is terrible, but at times necessary. Thank for being there to answer the call.

I'm a combat veteran. I served two tours in Vietnam. When I came back, I brought a U.S. flag back with me that had been tore up by shrapnel and bullets. Every year on the 4th of July, Veterans Day and Memorial Day, I fly this old flag. This has been my way of honoring those who fell. For those of you that fought in Vietnam, hey, WELCOME HOME!!! My thanks to all of the veterans that fought in all of the wars.

THANKS TO ALL VETS, AND REMEMBER THOSE FALLEN SOLDIERS WHO CAN"T BE WITH US ANY MORE!

Too bad there's no picture of a flag I can put up on this post.
I guess we'll have to make do with the one Georgia Boy is "flying".

To all vets, except my salute to you from a Navy vet. This is our day in the spot light, but lets not forget our fallen commrads not here to share this day with us. To the those that didn't serve, please give a word of thanks to vets you know or meet, they will appreciate it more than you can imagine. To us vets, it's not just a day off from work, but a day we are filled with mixed thoughts of the friends we shared laughter and good times with and the friends and commrads we lost and only have memories of. Nuff said, Thanks
