Caboose trucks

I've got several Quality Craft brass caboose kits that I am about to assemble, and I need trucks for them. The trucks required are basicly freight trucks, but with leaf springs, and with friction bearing caps.
I've checked with my LHS, but all they can show me are Athearn and Atlas caboose trucks, but they are all roller bearing trucks and won't suit my time era.

P2K caboose trucks look right, but the entire center bolster assembly is wrong. Works great for a hollow plastic base, but not for a wooden bolster. I need something that can be retained by a screw.
Any Ideas[?][?][?][?]

just a thought, but couldn't you either epoxy the large hole in the bolster, and then drill it out to be the correct diameter opening you need? If I understand you correctly, you could then use a countersunk screw head so the screw wouldn't be visible and/or hang down to low.
Also, you should be able to locate correct trucks made in brass, but they'll set you back a bunch. Doesn't Kadee make an appropriate truck?

Close but no cigar.
Kaydee makes the right trucks, (Along with Central valley and others)but thier bettendorf trucks have coil, not leaf springs.
P2K does not list thier trucks on the website under parts. I can only assume they do not sell them then.[V]
Any other ideas??????/

Never fear, there are LOTS of caboose trucks out there! If your LHS is only showing you Athearn and Atlas caboose trucks, they don't know the hobby very well!

Your cheapest route will be Tichy. They make AAR trucks with friction bearings and leaf springs. Eastern Car Works makes several multi-piece plastic kits for several truck types, most of which come with leaf spring inserts. Bowser makes Pennsy-specific caboose trucks, as well as brass Andrews trucks with leaf springs (actually tender trucks, but they work for cabooses). Bethlehem Car Works makes almost a dozen different caboose trucks, in white metal with metal wheelsets and nylon bearings (I just bought some; they're great!)

All of these manufacturers have websites and accept online orders.
