Gerald:Frist the bad news,Brass is out!Now to the good news!Yes you can remove that tarni***here is a product called tarnish off,I not sure who makes it.But,it is easy to come by.Wal-Marts Target,K-Mart,and even drug stores like Rite Aid carries it.Now all you do is wipe it on and the tarnish comes off.You can still use your brass track, there is nothing wrong with brass track.I recall when that was all you could buy it worked then and it will work now.Pesonnly,I am still not sure if it wasn't the best.I know some times I wi***he locomotives still had brass wheels.I think we had better electrical contact back then.I do know the engines seem to pull better back then.The only down fall with brass track is you must keep it clean. but,I am sure that the Radio sack turner cleaner would help to keep it clean.I hope this helps you.

I`ve got a lot of brass rail track,and I mean a lot. Is there any chemical that you can soak the track in to take the tarnish off the entire rail and not damage the plastic ties? Is brass out and nickle silver in? Hope I hear what I want to hear! There`s a lot of money tied to that brass. Thanks, Gerald
