can any one tell me what [in real life] hapened to the 4740
hopers once there oridganal owners ditched them? did they
get bought up and put into a large pool service or was there a
group such as hglx or cglx or shpx or what ever that had a
large fleet of these units to start with. any pictures avalable?[:I]

yes wow me too i was looking for some at a store the other day and the guy was telling me how they have not got any shipings

I work at a grain elevator and can assure you CSX still uses old covered hoppers,some are from 1966 and have high mounted brake wheels.I think I remember seeing 4740 cars with FURX and SIRX reporting marks.
