Morning All; for me its 0840, and I don't git up this early!!! Dinn't go to Pltd. for TOYS,used this silly machine, got what I needed and cheaper, when you consider the cost of gas, my time and the hassle of driving with all those crazy Snow Birds heading south down 101.and 30. Very crazy....Ordered a 4-6-2 brass oriental used good price, got some stuff from Rusty Stumps "beautiful" castings, I have never seen such good work most going in engine house. Had to order track and switches code 83,now i'llhave to use pushrods, no more [JR is walking all over the keys I guess he wants to eat again can't go out too nasty and he will get wet] elec. switch machines toooo expensive. Would one of those beautifull young laddies please get me a piece of Key Lime pie over there and a cup of coffee with choc. ....thank you..Micro-Mark had a special sale and I fell for it a small table saw for all the cutting of strip wood..I'v wanted one for a long time and they knocked it down about 25bucks......Well I blew all my allowence for this month..but freezers full, butts I make myself, bills are paid, got enough food for cats and I'm pretty happy...OH I almost forgot I've got you'all to talk to and listen too........Sunset BeachLogging, signing off. God Bless.............................chuck
Good Morning,
Chloe, Flo and Zoe - just a quick coffee - we have to get prepared for the switcher - it´ll be only a moment, before we have to move on.
Well, then let´s go about it!
Here it is, at the new track!
Hopefully someone's post will kick this thing on to page 50 and the switcher will be around to change our position in the yard.
I'm starting to think that maybe any new diner might as well get a large lined "Pie Fight Room" attached to it---think about it--cleanup will just be a quick hosing down job----
Oh well. It is getting late---so's I be heading off to get some
Have a good night----

Evening all, just stopping in before crashing for the night. I hear Q650 sitting down at the interchange dropping cars for the COEH to pickup tomorrow, so I might go and see what got dropped off tomorrow morning before the local boys come pickup. I'll just have another RBF.
Yes, Jim, I've been driving down every bump available for Amy. She's doing all right, just extremely miserable and ready to get this over with. We go to the doctor's tomorrow and if she has to she's going to ask to be induced, so I may or may not be able to get on here for a few days, but I definitely will be on at my first possible moment.
Well all, that's about it for me this evening, so I think I'm off to bed...
Good evening ....
I see Sue has been here. I'll operate some NP equipment just for kicks.

Evening all,
Sue what kind of wreaths will you guys make at your party?
I finished all my chores for the weekend, maybe this week I can do some MRR stuff. The diner I’m building is going slowly, but I did all the interior stuff first and now assembling the walls. I need to make a few more pictures for the walls before I install the front of the diner. Those Athearn 1949 Mack B fire trucks I picked up yesterday are very nice; I was surprised at the detail.
Jeff, how much water do you have now?

der,
How is your layout doing? For a while there you were working like a crazy man. Are you still doing the trees made from local weeds?

Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
I just couldn't get my head around calculus...I need to be able to visualize, and there seemed no way to do that with "intergration" and "differentiation"; those words have meanings that just didn't seem to apply. I gave up.
Today, besides being "All Saints Day" is also "Stir up Sunday" (from an Anglican prayer for the 22nd Sunday after Pentecost) - traditionally the day to make Christmas pudding and cake. So Kris made our Christmas Pudding today. Very good it looks too. Now we wait for it to mature and all those flavours to blend.
If there are any crab and salmon enchiladas left, I'll have those with an Olands please. I've scanned Hans' article from a 2006 edition of LOKI. For those who'd like to see some fine Swiss scratchbuilding in 1:45 scale there's an album that shouldn't need a password. Enjoy. RT may especially appreciate this. I've tried the link myself, and might suggest copying each image for viewing in a larger format, especially if you want to read the text (which is in German).
The same issue had a drawing WHICH shows that cats and layouts have an affinity WHICH is international!
I'll go to the back booth and see if Duke can wake up long enough to negotiate the move when the switcher comes. I'll likely not be back in until the new siding has been chosen; so please leave the customary trail of breadcrumbs.
Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers for all in need of healing, comfort, prosperity and peace.

jeffrey-wimberlyI took Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry and calculus. To this day I've not found a use for any of it.
I skipped Algebra I and took Geometry last year (learned absolutely nothing, teacher was a moron and got fired after his first year). Since I'm in Algebra 2 Honors, it's mixed with Trigonometry. Except for the stuff I already knew (systems of equations, graphing, that kinda stuff), so far, it makes no sense. Cramer's Rule and Determinants do not even have a right to exist because they make zero sense at all.[/rant]
EDIT: Looks like I got TOP! Eat up until it's time to move!

Evening and Happy All Saints' Day, Flo - I'll have a slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top, and a Santa Fe mug of coffee, please. Thanks!
Well, I was on-call and got called out last night, so I was at the ER assessing a client during the time change this 'morning.' I was wondering about whether to use CDT for both my sign-in time and sign-out time (we have to sign in and out in the ER in a binder they have for us), since if I had my coming in time as 1:14 a.m., but my signing out time in CST, I'd be signing out at 1:08 a.m. I decided to use CDT for both, since I sure don't want them thinking I'm THAT fast! And I was wondering too - since a usual shift of on-call on Sat. a.m. to Sun. a.m. runs for 24 hours, but this night I covered the 1 to 2 a.m. time twice, should I ask them for being paid for 25 hours? Hmm...
But no little urchins, goblins, or even cows hereabouts. Probably has to do with no street lights on our street (though the apartment buildings have lights on the front of the buildings), but I'm not surprised with it being an apartment building. I did see someone with two kids in tow across the street (heading further down the street) about five-ish when I had to head out for another call to the ER, but that was all.

Think I got the problem with the YouTube video player figured and fixed, but it took some searches, adding a plug-in to Firefox, and then disabling one setting in the plug-in. Sheesh!
Never had see that Boris Pickett video before, Garry. Thanks.
Todd, Todd - haven't you learned by now? You cannot (without risk to life and limb) treat the gals who w**k in the Diner that way - even if Flo hadn't made you that 'special mix', you'd have still had to worry about Vinnie, y'know?
Johnboy, hope you are able to get back to the layout and some of your structure kits soon!
DerJohn, congrats on eluding Mr. Murphy for your tour! That is amazing, all right.
Maple sausage Rotel dip, Bama? Eeyewwww! I'll pass, thanks. How's Amy been doing? Take her for that car ride down the bumpy gravel (or dirt) road with the ruts? No?
Ulrich, keep at 'em there, and we'll keep the possibility of a better report on the house value in our . I think a good part of your silver lining is on the other side of those clouds (across the pond).
Man, Ray and Garry - I wish when I was in Cub (or Boy) Scouts that we'd have had someone to help with learning about trains. But at least I got back into it and am catching up some...
(Belated) , TWright! So do you have to put on a mask to blow out the candles on your birthday cake?
Haven't heard anything from my lady friend south of here, which is a bit puzzling. Maybe she's just been busy visiting her grand kids, I hope.
This afternoon, I got the rest of the track re-spiked down and holes for the feeder wires to go through drilled. So next is soldering the feeders to the tracks and then the main bus wires. I just might have trains running by Christmas (though I'm gonna need to get a throttle between now and then somehow).
After layout w**k, I went by my daughter and SIL's place to return his drill bits I'd borrowed (still haven't seen that gray box of MY drill bits...). Got some visiting with grandson Drew (he'd awakened from his nap a little before I got there and at first was fussy because his Mom wasn't there, just Grandma) after he woke up and went outside. The boy sure likes being outdoors, I'll say THAT for him. He had fun walking around holding Grandpa's finger, and also had fun when we got him in the swing in the backyard. Drew appears to have discovered what fun it is to 'chase' Joey their skipperke dog. She appears to like the game too (until she gets kinda worn out, since she does most of the running). Drew also liked acorns when I showed him some of those (there're a lot in their backyard). After showing the three acorns he picked up to Mom and Grandma, he then offered them to Joey. Anyone know if dogs get very sick after crunching on acorns? I don't think Joey actually ate any, but...
Almost time for me to head for home. (29 days until my natal anniversary)
Blessings and prayers,

Hello everybody ...
I'm learning more about my neice in PA. She went home from the hospital today. It was a close call. She nearly died from H1N1 a few days ago. She's in her 20's with two young kids (one is a 3 month old baby)...... Lesson for everybody is to get immediate medical attention if there are symptoms of this flu......
Ray .... I am really very impressed with what you are doing with the scouts. You are reminding me of my time serving as cub master many years ago in Michigan. I took a group of cub scouts to the intermodal terminal where they watched trailers and containers being loaded on flat cars. They were allowed on a caboose. Also, a truck driver drove kids around the terminal in his truck tractor.
Tom Wright ... Happy Birthday (Late)
*comes back in with two chocolate PIEs and a large cauldron of specially-made maple sausage rotel dip* Y'all eat up!
Coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please & thanks.
***Tom, must be a kick seeing that many costumed kids come to your door. We do not get any trick-or-treaters here on the farm or anywhere else in this valley for that matter. A belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY, too.
Rob
BamaCSX83 Hey Barry, I got some chocolate PIE hidden at the house, I'll bring it into the diner and see how long it lasts.

Bring it to Todd. I think he could use some o' that---
Afternoon folks!
Just a cup of hot chocolate in a FGLK Mug, Chloe. I'll go sit in the back booth next to Todd and Duke and see if they can snore on key......
".... I'm the train they call the city of......." Makes a good accompaniment doesn't it?
Just got home from the Museums with the Boy Scouts. All of them that came today (one was absent) have their first requirement marked off on the merit badge....... Every one of them know about FRED! I kept walking up to the Scuts and askimg them who FRED was..... Probably told them 25 times or more. By the end of the time each could tell me about FRED.... By Thursday when I see them again most won't have a clue... But such is the nature of their disabilities. I am most concerned that they all know the safety aspect of the Merit Badge. Most of the other requirements we will do together enough so that I can hoestly say "yes they know that". They are fun bunch of Scouts. I think the parents and leaders enjoyed the trip as much or more than the Scouts did. One of the leaders is a gentleman that was at one time a foster child of the Troop Commissioner. He is only able to walk with brace like crutches. We got him up into the cab of the diesel for a ride on the way back up the hill. Seven Scouts, one Webelo, and 2 Adult leaders got cab rides. They all left smiling.......
I can now get out of my museum clothes and put on an old shirt to do some fiddling with the layout tonight.
Catch you all later!

Just for the record---I never started the last one or this potential one, or any other one either!!----besides, didn't our insurance company threaten to hike the rates on us for the last episode for pete sake? Sheeesh!
Got home from a busy day being a glorified TA---we had a guest doing the seminar today----
Look, if someone wants to share a pie with me that is fine----I will not be TOO interested in it being ON me---but hey----I'll be willing to share in that pie----
Chloe, I'll be having a slice of that Lemon Merigue Pie and a RBF as well please---I'll be at the RC for now
*pokes head in door, see's Todd sleeping on the floor, and pieces of pie everywhere* Hi girls, just a RBF for me, been munching on stuff all day long at w**k. I see that pretty well everyone has stopped in at some point, even our resident pie tossers. And y'all might want to gently move Todd elsewhere as it seems he's fallen asleep in the floor and is drooling. Not a whole lot happening around here, just got done with being at w**k today, it was fairly slow, I got to do some "required" (it would be required for someone that didn't already know how to do it) training whilst at w**k, unfortunately I got done with it and actually felt less smart than when I started, its very watered down.
Just relaxing at home now, got a few HD's to do at some point in time between now and when I hit the sack tonight, so no big rush on them. Welp, I think I'll crawl into the window booth and see whom else will be coming in before its all over with.
Why is it whatching dogs sleep makes you tire......... (THUMP) zzzzzzzzz

Afternoon all. Flo, I'll take a RBF to go, thanks.
Just stoppin in, computer's about to die (and I'm too lazy to walk downstairs and get the cord, lol)
Catch ya later.
Hello Diners!
I actually did a few things on the layout which has been mostly idle with all the other stuff going on lately. I posted some pix of the steel mill in WPF.
Here's a shot of the doodlebug passing a vegetable garden. Perhaps, some veggies are needed in the diner to be "heart smart" ......... If Ryan would show up, he woul probably have a great recipe ....... A good alternative to that would be for Ray to use his new range/oven to prepare a veggie dish. He could do that when not making cookies ........ hmmmm ...cookies....on second thought, Ray... forget the healthy stuff. ..Feel free to bake some cookies......... well, another thought....... Ulrich, do you have any strudel?
Good morning. It's 54 and sunny. The high will be around 73 and it will be sunny.I intended to get on earlier but cable problems made that impossible. The local system was down for almost three hours this morning with just brief periods of operation and that wasn't doing my blood pressure any good. On the layout front I've been doing some minor paint work on the new freight cars I picked up yesterday. I'd like to give my cars the appearance that they have reflective safety stripes on them but I don't have anything that has the proper shaped hole to use as a stencil, so I'm just using a paint pen to make to make some dashes along the sides. Best I can do for now.
Good morning, All. I haven't been in for a few days. Too much busy stuff going on.
We went to a party at my brother's house last night. The theme was zombies. Now it is time to get ready for my wreath party on the 20th. The time change will kill this next week, because I wake up at the regular time. 4:00 is just too early.
Barry, Thanks for the railfanning. I enjoyed the photos.
Lee, Things are messed up here, too. Hopefully, your property taxes will go down with the value.
