I almost started a new thread but I thought this would be better.

Seems Con Cor is going ahead and going to get the Electroliner out.

But I am still going for the Sunset. Brass, interior and sound and DCC. YAY!

I think it was way cool that bachmann Spectrum came out with the 2-6-6-2 in NKP and W&LE, a model I was looking for happened, and I own the W&LE version.

Life like came out with the NYC subway cars and seemed to do well.

Since Walthers no longer makes their NS cars we've gone to pricey brass which so much is out of our price range.

I decided to get the Sunset model, since no other is going to come out soon...
gotta save the bucks so....but it will have sound and DCC ready and painted.
says its takes 22 inch radius curves, the prototype could take sharper..oh well.

if any of the model makers should do something, is they should make some kind of interurban car like the NS car, say lifelike has made the 2-8-4 and 2-8-8-2 with many parts interchangeable to make different the different road differences, but other parts are the same, this is true for NS and CA&E, there are many similarities in the cars but there are differences.
part interchangabilty can be effective to make the cars.

They could make near ficticious versions to represent any interurban line so it wouldnt just be chicago specific. Many of the early lines were Jewett styled cars
and Bowser has those.

If you ask me ConCor should have just gone ahead and produced them, if MTH makes a tinplate Little Joe, why the heck didnt they just go ahead...?

Darn right I would lie to see the Electroliner. I mean, how many F3s and GPs can you have? Let's get doing some different engines for once in a while.

Sunset Models is coming out with the Electroliner in HO; that's the good news. Bad news is the msrp is $599.00.

Not my alley either, but it is SO COOL and a very historic train. If it was reasonable $$, as implied by plastic, I would buy it. Mike and I DO ocassionally collect HO in all kinds of eras and types if we like the train or car or loco. We bring our HO to other club members homes to run, cause we have no HO track.......Doin' On3, and next summer we hope to have our Lionel postwar layout started. Jennifer

I have some deep "blood ties" to this. I would buy one, but only if it was "reasonably priced." We'll see.

As neat as the Electroliner is, I myself, won't be in line to buy one.

If a reasonably priced, beautiful model was produced of the Electroliner, I'd own one faster than you could cook an Electroburger! LONG-LIVE TRACTION!!!

If it has an X in it, it sucks! And yes, I just had my modeler's license renewed last week!

the CTA and CA&E.

Yes I rode it as a kid, and I would buy the electroliner.

That old CA & E was the Canon Ball out of Aurora from what I recall.

Electroliner and North Shore may be rather specialized, but the North Shore was one unique line able to ride from milwaukee to chicago into the loop on the loop along with the CTA and CA&E.

Yes I rode it as a kid, and I would buy the electroliner.
I have been hunting down the model and its noweheres.

http://www.northshoreline.com/wwwboard/wwwboard.html

you will find more North Shore fans here.

I will be building a combination layout which will include my fav lines, North Shore, South Shore and more.

I'd probably get one just so I could say I have one, but it wouldn't likely see much time on my layout.

Well Con-Cor offered one two years ago and asked anyone interested to pre register
Not enough did to warrant making the train. Now they are offering a Pioneer Zephyr on similar terms

Much too specialized for me and a little pricey. But... for someone with a small freelanced road a way to add passenger service without E's and 85' passenger cars.

DITTO
Although I rode it to the north shore on its last run,saw them circle the loop many-many times and rode the old CA&E," that isn't up my alley".

It's not really appropriate to my prototype but it mght be fun. I have a soft spot for streamlined equipment and electrics, so the Electroliner is nice...I've just always hated the color scheme.

First would you buy it and then if was offered as an undec as well so you put it in your road name.
