I need your help

hello y'all
I have recently become interested in the Chicago & Eastern Illinois Railroad, but, alas, there are no locomotive models made for this railroad. the only thing i have found is the new athearn genesis 2-8-2. so, i have come up with a plan and i was wondering if any of y'all would help. my plan is to email all the manufacturers that make the types of locos that the C&EI owned and ask them if they would release them in C&EI paint schemes. if you want to see the C&EI remembered please email all the manufacturers and ask them if they would produce these. if they get enough intrest, they might just make them :)

I believe you will find that Microscale Decals makes decal sets for C&EI Diesel locomotives. Certainly C&EI's hood unit scheme is simple to paint. You might try painting and decaling your own power, I think you'll find this an enjoyable part of the hobby.

Alex:Gregg made an excellant point on painting
and decaling your locomotives and rolling stock.
Not only is this a fun part of the hobby,You will
have unique locomotives and cars no one else has.
I have done this for years.

I have been painting, detailing, and decaling all my brass steam locos for the C&EI. i currently have 2 4-6-2's and a 4-4-2. with a 2-10-2 and an 0-6-0 on order. this has been pretty fun except for the fact that no one makes decals for C&EI steam locos that i have found so far. i was just hoping that someone would produce diesels for them so that everyone, no matter how experienced, would be able to get one. i dont want to let the C&EI die :)

Alex:I understand what you are saying,But since
the C&EI was a small road it would be hard to get
a manufacturer to produce it.As far as that goes
even some of the larger roads.Have you ever tried
finding any-thing for the Western Maryland,New
Haven,or any of the similar roads?Good luck!
You may want to try a custom decal company, check
in MR for their ads.By the way did you check
champion(Champ)decals?They may make C&EI steam
decals. I surely wish you the best of luck,I know
how frustrating this must be.

If you're into modeling the C&EI, write articles about it! MR seems to like articles about model railroads based on railroads not commonly modeled to show the breadth of the hobby. Submit photos. Do a "paint shop" article on painting C&EI power. That's the only way you're going to keep any interest alive. After all, it's been 36 years since the C&EI was divided up between the MP and the L&N.

to locate one.I also checked this months MR and

Alex, there is a list of decal manufacturers in the current MR. Champ used to have a website through the local chamber of commerce. The owner is in the process of retiring and will make no new decals, so if you want Champ Decal Co., decals, I would not delay too long!

I found a guy on ebay selling Champ decals for the C&EI, i will have to wait till i get them to find out if any of them will work for my steam engines. i sure love ebay :) i also emailed Overland MOdels and found out that they have released an E9A, BL2, and a FP7A for the C&EI...if i could only track one of each down...
thanks again for the info
