I search for the name of C&NW´s last paint scheme.

The scheme that was used at the GE Dash 9´s and GE AC4400.

Ulrich,

I have heard the Dash 9 scheme called the "Lightning Stripe" because of the two angles to get the green stripe below the cab windows. The same name is given to the height change in the grey roof of the UP scheme applied to the SD70M locomotives which use the same pattern of angles on the red stripe and the grey roof. It is said that the UP design was inspired by the C&NW locomotives that they took over.

Although I haven't been to the USA for some time, I did get good photos of C&NW units of this type on Cajon Pass.

I, too, also recall the term "Lightening Stripe" being used to describe the paint scheme of the AC4400s on the good old CNW.
