Athearn FP45 question
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, May 6, 2004 4:55 PM
Hey guys, I'm looking into getting an FP45[^] (can't resist, they're SOOOO cool!![:)][:D]). I found them on ebay, and found them on the internet, but one thing bothers me. 2 words: HORNHOOK COUPLERS. If I got them, I'd replace them with Kadees. So here's my question: Will there be any cutting or modifying involved to change the coupler? Or will it be as simple as any other coupler change/installation. Thanks in advance![:)][:p][:D][8D][;)]

Kadee #38 should work well for this brute.

It's just pop out the old pop in the new. Athearn has always had very very easy coupler changes, especially on the Blue Box series. You might want to remove the shell for easier working but there's no major work needed.

Could KD #5s work? Well, then again, all KD #s are compatible, right?
