Actually, the Veranda looks tighter than the 3 unit turbine.

The Swiss company Wesa made a Three Unit Turbine in about 1961. I think the two power units were diecast, with a plastic tender.

It ran on 13mm gauge (about TT scale), the couplers didn't match anything else and the only vehicle they made for it to haul was a UP Dome Coach

They also sold the cab unit separately as a sort of passenger diesel for those who didn't want the actual turbine and tender.

Still, if you are dedicated enough, changing gauge and scale is only a small price to pay to have the locomotive you really want!

Iwell, if you look at the "Future Items" at www.overlandmodels.com you'll find your 3 unit UP gasturbine in 9 different road# all prototypical correct ( as models allways are at Overland I guess ) only setting you back a meager $2140,=
so, lets all line up and apply for a new mortgages [:D]

btw if you fill in an online poll you can earn a $25,= coupon for yor next order at Overland
