Hi Tom,
Haven't taken that big step to upload pictures to this forum yet.You can see thecolour scheme in Walthers catalogue. The previous poster has include a picture in this paint sheme. Thanks to all who answered. Enjoy your empires.
Just going by the pictures on the Walthers website, I'd say the "cream" is probably pretty close to "Depot Buff", sort of a creamy yellow. Several manufacturers make "Depot Buff" paint. "Soo Line Dulux Gold" would probably be close too.
Not sure on the green, in the pic it almost likes like a military "Olive Drab". Of course green and blue paint fades in the sun more than most other colors, so it wouldn't be unusual for the colors to not be identical from building to building.

FWIW as the name implies "Depot Buff" was a common color for RR buildings, my Dad (b.1918) pointed out once that in the 1920's-30's cream-and-green was a popular color scheme for residential houses too.
Michael,
Can you post a picture so that we can actually see what the colors are?

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Melchoir Can anyone tell me what colours this scheme would be if you were using PolyScale paints. What railroads used these colours and what time frame were they used in.I happen to think they are kind of neat and would like to paint some structures in these colours. Would appreciate some advice on this one. Thanks

I use the Walthers Interlock Tower with the cream and green color combo in several spots on my layout. Recently, I purchased the 3 little yard shacks by BTS and tried to match these colors. I used D&RGW Cream and CNW Green. This combination seems to be a pretty good match.
Can't help you on the actual railroad use of these colors or time frame.

I'll take a wild guess. Pollyscale 'D&RGW cream' and maybe 'BN green'. I don't know specifically about railraods and signal towers but I think the Great Northern had some depots that were white/green with a red roof.
