What happened to American GK

What happened to the HO scale manufacturer "American GK". I just got an E60C model from this company, but i wonder why they didnĀ“t exist anymore? Were the bankrupcy, or bought by another company? Anyone here who knows something about?

American GK has been gone for quite a while, sad to say.

They had a nice version of the E60 electric. Athearn chassis' was used. Very noisy unit but nothing that the "tune up" methods couldn't handle. I saw a used one for sale at a Suncoast Modelers Train Show two months ago. Guy was selling it fof $60.

"I like my Pullman Standards & Budds in Stainless Steel flavors, thank you!"
