Wisconsin & Southern Troy Branch
Posted by BerkshireSteam on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 5:40 PM

After looking at back issues, specifically 4/08 issue, decided on making a version of MR's WSOR Troy Branch layout. It will only be based on it, mostly the businesses. Plan to keep it in HO, but much much smaller and only 3 industries, maybe 4 if I can get them small. Wondering if anyone else has built it or built a layout based on Troy branch, or where I can get more info on it. I have the Part 4 issue where MR talks about the structures but it doesn't give enough info. I really do need more than a list of matierials and a quick overview of how it was glued and painted. I plan to at least order the 1/08 back issue where it goes over the track plan and operations, but I really need more info on track placement and building sizes. Need to know if I can keep it HO or if I will have to down size and make it N.

I plan to run it as a Wisconsin Central layout though. No pish posh intended towards MR or anything, it's just that I see quite a bit of old WC motive power running down the local CN rails by the apartment and in the yard so I've started to become pretty interested in WC.

Thats a pretty neat video. Now i know why you guys love your jobs. What I'd give to work on a layout all day, day in, day out!

As surely as the day is long, I am the Analog Kid. (Don't believe me? Ask me how many vinyls I listen to in a day...)
