Funny you should mention the camera sir...  Took the camera and tripod out because I was bored.  142 clicks of the shutter and got two I was satisfied with.

Do you just get the feeling everyone is inside enjoying a nice meal?

And earlier in the day they were still trying to fix the darn truck, or maybe they were just using it as an excuse to look at the young lady walking by?

Y'know, I've been doing this for 4 years now, give or take a bit.  And over the last year or so, I've noticed a change in WPF.  The pictures are just so much better.  It's not just the quality of the photos, which is also up, but the quality of the modelling.  Everyone has taken a step up.  For me, WPF is setting the standard.  I'm just not happy with work I would have been satisfied with a few years back.  My hat is off to every one of you.

And now, the end of my layout.  No, it's not going away, but when I started my scenery, I began in the "southwest" corner of the table.  Slowly, I worked my way across, north and east, one scene at a time, until the pink foam gave way to woods and waterways.  This weekend, I completed the final section, the corner at the "northeast" edge of the layout.  It's the old Vollmer coal loading structure.

Yes, the building does work.  I can load live coal loads from the 2 solenoid-activated chutes.  And, that's a Mantua clamshell hopper, so when I take it all the way over to the other side, I can dump the coal through the trestle into a hidden box below the layout, and start the cycle again.

This shot came out "artistic."

An area on an unfinished part of my layout.  The house is by Northeastern Scale and was originally a yard storage type structure, but a friend of mine finished it up as a section house complete with chimney, curtains, and built on bathroom etc.

Jarrell

That sure looks pretty finished to me.  I have seen unfinished and that my friend is not unfinishedWink  Looks good jarrel, hope someday my unfinished layout looks as good as yours.

 It was Gondola Week here...

I started with this more or less stock Micro Trains car, complete with high rise lift kits from the factory.  The load is a rebar load I made using some stranded wire.  I modified it by completely cutting the floor out of the MT shell, and lowering it over the frame to get a more proto ride height.

I also weathered it with some acrylic washes.  To replace the floor, I used some v-groove styrene sheet from Evergreen, and used acrylic craft paints to weather it to look like beat up old wood.

I also lettered up this LBF car for my "home road" the Laurel Valley.

It's weathered lightly with an airbrush, and I added Fox Valley wheelsets.  This got a similar floor treatment to the N&W car above.

For once, I actually have something to contribute:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S53K6J7Zvlw

I got the mars light working on my U28B. 5451 in an ex-CB&Q unit, instead of adding a beacon to it, I'm letting keep it's mars light. Just wish that the QSI sound ones allowed this.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Hello again. I hope some of you will excuse me for posting here a second time in 24 hours. I wanted to post this picture showing the rsults of some repair work. We were out-of-town for a week and a leaking water heater created enough humidity to mess up all of my 90 feet of paper backdrop. I have been using Faller backdrops because I like the clowds on them.

Here is a picture with some backdrop I repaired in recent days. In this section of the layout, I smoothed the surfaces as well as was feasible. Next, I painted it sky blue and made clowds spraying with white paint. The tops of many of the clowds were painted with simple home made stencils made from torn newspaper. It's not at all perfect, but I'll move on to more layout sections to repair backdrops.

Great stuff everyone!!  This week I also finished up my last two athearn rotary snow plows for ebay.  I glazed all the windows, painted and lettered with mow and road number, added alll metal wheels front and back, added electrical pickups and put a motor in it to power the front blade.  It really works well.  These are the last two of 6 that I had bought.  I kept one and put a light in it and thinking of putting a sound decoder in it with small cat diesel engine( I converted my to diesel power). The other 4 sold like hotcakes.

I also started to paint the roofs and floors of some mdc roundhouse 34' passanger coaches for my senic train that I would like to run.  I also bought some sophisticated finishes iron paint and rust activator and painted the inside of one of my gondolas.  It came out pretty good.  Now I will have to practice with smaller areas to represent scratches and patches of rust.  I will try to post pics of it tomorrow.

Have a great weekend!!

Yes, I agree there are great photos.

On my layout, the eastbound Twilight Zephyr is running on the westbound main as it makes a station stop in Valley Heights with an E5 AB set.

Great pictures so far.  Thanks everyone!

As for me, the east end of my layout has been an OSB plateau for a couple of years:

Over the past week, that era came to an end:

The bare rectangles are foundations for structures.  I made my own rock molds painting latex onto a hunk of coal.  So far I'm pleased.  Here's another shot:

I'll post more pictures as I make more progress.

Thank you all.  Thank you Don Z for correcting the title of the thread.  No MM, Weekend Photo Fun is not WFF.  LOL.

The background trees were made using all methods, twisted wire, caspia fern, and cooler pads.  From 15 years ago I had over 200 caspia pine trees, unfortunately they didn't make the years of storage in a 130 degree attic.  The majority of those wonderful foreground trees are Grand Central Gem items.  Whether or not one approves of store bought trees, those things are the best I've ever seen, and fairly indestructible with their plastic molded branches.  FWIW, much less expensive in quantity.  Sorry, no website.  I'll work on that.

Love the other pics, and that bridge...wow.
