Help.....Noisy engine
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, April 26, 2004 7:05 PM
I just received an N scale 8-40bw engine from the "great swap meet "on the internet. It is supposed to be new, but when I ran the engine, it sounds very noisy, like the gears are grinding. Is this normal for new locos? Can anything be done about it? Or does it need to be fixed in some way? Thanks, Mike

mike some seller have old things that are new in the box it may need to be greased and oiled as some things sit on the shelf too long and need to be (serviced) right away

I have HO but its atlas / kato and the shell has 4 clips that grab the frame at the front and back edge but try not to pull it too hard as the clips can snap off easy
