Where can I find plans or articles for scratch building a roundhouse or a concrete type coal dock.

If you type in "plans concrete coal station" in a google search, the first entry has some plans and photos.

Or you could go to www.index.mrmag.com and try some search terms like "roundhouse" and "plan".

Or, put another way, what you want is all over the place. You just have to look.

One nifty source is HAER-HABS, Historic American Engineering Record-Historic American Building Survey:

 http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/habs_haer/

Search for coaling station or coaling dock or railroad coaling.

Since you are a Reading fan the HAER has full plans for the RDG-exP&R-exW&N roundhouse at Wilmington.

Tons of photos, plans, maps of all sorts of buildings and industries. From the late 1800's through today.
