Oddly enough it wasn't the 2 1/2 Men episode that caught my attention, it was the NCIS episode that followed.  There was a scene in the mourge where "Ducky" was setting at his desk while talking to Jethro about a case.  And over his shoulder, on a shelf on the far wall, was model of a British railway locomotive.  From the size and color, I would say it was Gordon from the Thomas the Tank Engine series.  Has anyone else noticed that before?

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

In another episode, Alan mentioned going through a model train phase.

Until last night show there had only been references to Herb's train room which was in the spare bedroom and also his model railroad club friends. It was just a glimpse of the layout on a table setting, looked like HO to me. Yes, Herb wearing the Engineers had was hilarious.

"King Of Queens" also did this. Doug's parents are having some 'marital' disagreement's when his father takes off and goes to a train show. I have to keep my eye's open for Sheldon's trains. I usually watch that show unless something comes up. I don't watch 2 1/2. I liked it when it started but I don't anymore. Rules was ok, but I mostly watch it because Megan Price is on it, and because so is "Putty". I have to admit though, as, well, super nerdy as the Sheldon character is I don't really see him being into trains. Unless they were propelled by a solar generated laser particle accelerator or something. I mean come on, the guys have a weekly Wii bowling leauge night. I also have to admit I got interested in Big Bang because Johnny Gileki (spelling?) was in it, I used to watch Roseanne all the time but lately I haven't been up that late. I did see the episode with Sara Gilbert though. I could still feel the 'love'. And how gorgeous is the Penny girl?? Wink Every week me an the lil lady watch it we usually end up agreeing at the end of the episode that we wish the guys from Big Bang Theory were real people, and they lived on the same floor as us. They may be nerds, but life with those characters in it would definetly be more entertaining.

Seems TV production is wonky these days, what with the strike two years ago, pre-emption due to sports, late(r) season start-ups for new episodes, earlier resort to repeats in April/May.  Many repeats inserted mid-season, too.  So, between all those false starts, I just don't watch much TV.  If wife hollers down that 2 1/2 is on with a new episode, the deal is I watch it with her.  It is repetitive and predictable these days, although still better than so many other sitcoms..for my tastes.  I particularly like "Rules of Engagement" which follows.  No train jokes or references on that one, though.

The show was a repeat on CBS as a special time on Tuesday night prior to NCIS and Big Bang.  I had viewed it prior to this time, but this 2009 season.  The scene is so short it really did not get much attention.    The problem is, I had forgot there was a train in the scene when they went to Herb's apartment with the two girls.   Now you know why the memory was slow.

I saw the scene but they only showed a short clip and I could not even be sure it was even HO.   Nick at Allied Trains might know.  He worked on Rod's layout and other studio type layouts.

I don't watch "two and a half men".  I think its a horrible show!!!  BUT......I love "big bang theory".  I never noticed his layout in the show.  I will have to keep a eye out.  Thats pretty neat.

The producer is Chuck Lorre.  If I didn't know any better, he was a MRR' himself.

Chuck Lorre also produces "Big Bang Theory" and one of the lead characters, Sheldon, loves trains.  In his room you can prominately see he has O Scale train stuff.

Another "big bang" episode was dedicated to a train trip they took.

The prime time broadcast normally on Monday nights was a repeat this week, so I think you must be referring to a repeat/syndicated episode on another station.

Can you expand a bit for us?  Which network, which episode?  It doesn't come to mind.
