I haven't done it myself but when I owned a hobby shop in Northern Michigan 20 years ago I had one customer that had a N scale railroad in his camper.  He was a pilot on the Mackinaw Island ferries during the summer and lived in Florida the rest of the year where he had a HO layout.  His wife even put together a 6' puzzle in the trailer one year.

If you want it you can do it.  I used road trips to build up models for myself and the store at conventions.  Make up a small box of tools that you need, a tackle box works good for tools and supplies.

Hope this helps.

A question for for anyone who is an RVer and a model RRer. When I retire in 2 more years, I hope to spend 4 or 5 mounths a year RVing around the US. I am wondering what model RRers have done or are doing when on the road? Thank you for any ideas.
