Yes, SP did have 2-8-0s, there was a class of "Harriman Common Standard" 2-8-0s that were used on both the UP and the SP, some of which even were transfered between the RRs during their lives. I have seen photos of them with either Vanderbilt tenders or Box tenders. Without having a handy pic to compare against one of my HO spectrum UP 2-8-0s, I can't say that they were exact matches, but I think that they would be Reasonable stand ins for the Harriman Common Standard 2-8-0s. Someone else's definition of "Reasonable Stand ins" may be different than mine, but I would say "Go For It" myself. My HO Spectrum 2-8-0s are very smooth runners, and I do have an "N" 2-8-0 and Light 4-8-2, I don't recall how they run, I dabbled at little in "N" but never got serious about it, and for the last 4 years I have been more involved with 3 Rail O-Gauge.

May your flanges always stay BETWEEN the rails
I picked up an N-scale Spectrum 2-8-0 Consolidation for a very good price the other day. I would like to reassign it (with paint and decals) to SP or possibly another western railroad (I know UP had them). Is there a good reference website anyone can recommend to see if SP ever had those and maybe find a picture?
Thanks. Obviously, I'm not a rivet counter with this approach, but I would like to get into the same general vicinity as reality!
