A testament to good packaging!
Posted by Jake1210 on Friday, March 20, 2009 6:05 AM

Not too long ago I ordered myself a Blackstone Models D&RGW boxcar and hi-side gondola from Litchfield Station. After the hassle of getting the package to ME, (the mail clerk at the local post office confused me, Jacob and my father, Steven, for some reason, and long story short the boxcar almost got shipped back to Arizona... but it didn't!) I opened the box, and examined the car, as this was the first time I'd had a narrow gauge boxcar, all I had at that point was a B2/3 stock car. Amazed with the detail, I put it back in the box, and put the box in my backpack to show some of my friends in my Engineering Tech shop, knowing they would be interested. That was 3 weeks ago. After 2 weeks of it being banged up by books and a locker in academics, I just took it out. The box is pretty bad, but the car is in absolutely perfect condition! Not a wheel out of place! I am amazed that a simple polypropylene "cage" was able to keep such a delecate car so safe! I bet you cardboard and brown paper packaging couldnt do that! Wink
