Segment 3, there's not much scenery, just tracks.

Hi Wolfgang: Thank you for sharing your latest video of your scrap yard. Your web site, videos, and "How To's" have been an inspiration to me. Keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to your next project.

What did you use for the scrap piles? They look great!

One pile is made of foil. There was an article in the NMRA Bulletin Nov 1997, Tom Persoon, Modeling scrap aluminium bales. He used the wrapping of sweeties, candies and others. Easter is coming! Collect the wrappings. I did this over years. I've used the covers from yogurt cups, too. They're more heavy.
And I've used an old coffee grinder. It has its second life in the basement.
You can get the desired fineness, grist. Just let the grinder work longer.

The other pile is made of shavings from a lathe or drill. You need the finer ones. And I painted it a rusty color. This pile, I think, is not finished. It needs a lot of other material, texture.

PS, I noticed on german forums the greeting "moins". Can you tell me the literal meaning of this word and its correct usage? BILL

"Moins" equals "hi"  in this context.  Think of it like the American greeting "mornin'."

Great start for an industrial scene, Wolfgang.

Thanks for proving there is a god, and he carries a coupler pick.

Great video, Wolfgang.  It seems very realistic wth the right speed and sound.  Good job.

Excellent Wolfgang!!! Your little videos keep reminding me that I need to start wiring some frogs. I got a nice little 0-6-0 that just won't negotiate Atlas switches. Also I really like the flasher on the litle switcher and your COMPANY paint jobs. Right on Man!!
