Ground Throws

to any one uses ground throws. I would like to know what the diff. is between the
"RIDGED" and "Sprung" throws.

I'm assuming that you are refering to the Caboose Industries line-up of ground throws. If so, the "sprung" throws are usually the items of choice. The ridgid throws have an exact throw distance, and then it locks into position, but does not put continuous pressure on the points. It's OK, but in the mounting phase, if it's not properly centered, you could damage part of the switch mechanism by applying too much pressure, if the ground throw exceeds the didtance of the switch. The "sprung" version has a slightly shorter throw distance, but from that point on, the spring takes up any slack, and applies constant pressure to the points. The spring also acts like a shock absorber too. Both are good products. I chose the 206S for N-scale. Robert
