Everything.

My initial purchase of MR equipment was via the internet. Although I didn't buy a 'set', the equipment I purchased was comparable to what you would get in a set.

Since then, everything I've bought has been from one of my local hobby shops. I could save money and at times even get more exactly what I'm looking for via the internet. But I like being able to get my purchases immediately, and being able to look at and hold what I buy. As I gain more experience I am sure I will want specialized orders that will be best filled via the internet. But for now, I look forward to my weekly or bi-weekly trips to the LHS.

I'm one of those "bad" people who shops mostly on-line or on eBay. For those less costly things that are not practical to buy on-line, I will get them at my Local Hobby Shop (LHS).

I have nothing against the LHS’s in my area, and used to be more apologetic for not “supporting” them with more of my business. But I quickly got over that when I discovered that I can purchase a loco for $45 (or less) on-line (freight included) that retails for $90 at my LHS. My momma didn’t raise any fool!

To me it’s simple economics. If I pay retail, I won’t be able to afford this hobby. And before someone starts whining that I’ll be sorry when these stores disappear because of people like me, well, that’s life. Things change. The hobby will survive. It’s done a fair job of it so far.

Duh! That's like asking "What do you get at your local grocery store?
Meat
Vegetables
Fruit
Bread
Anything"
