Hi All, I was wondering, before my son and I get to far into Marklin. Is it possible to run American Locs on Ctrack?

Marklin equipment is 3 rail/ac with the center rail as the hot rail, American equipment is two rail/dc with one side hot and the other side ground. You can't the two on the same trackage.

enjoy the knowledge on these forums!

so what emeraldisle posts means that you can only run Märklin fabricated US locs on C-track, Märklin is getting more US models in their catalogue every year, but IMHO you also should consider their pricing if you decide to continue riding the Ctrack .

but overall:
Have Fun!

Actually, you can run both two and three rail / DC or AC / analog or digital on Marklin's C track. Just not at the same time. The rails are insulated from each other and seperate feeders can be attached to each rail as you would do with Atlas. There are some other issues such as using insulated wheelsets, which we could discuss in more detail.

I would like to steer you over to an email group in Yahoo discussion groups called the Marklin Bar & Grille. They are a very nice group of people.

I just got back into the hobby in 2002 and have been learning all about the whole digital scene. Yikes, a lot to learn. You can take a look at some of my progress at www.macbeth66.com.

Let me know what you think and your own progress.
