I need to paint the frame and trucks of a Atlas ALCo RS1. The only problem is that the frame of the RS1 is a 1-piece diecast frame, naturally the motor is attached to the frame, I am not that expeirieced at takeing apart the drive system and takeing the motor off the frame for painting (for fear of messing something up) so I am wondering if there would be a way around this or, if takeing the drive system and the motor off the frame is easier than I think. Also the truck side frams look to be holding together the entire truck assembly, is there a way to take off the side-frames (for painting) and still keep the trucks together (like Athearn Models). Hopefully, I explained my situation clear enough. Thanks for your help.
I love the smell of ALCo smoke in the Morning. "Long live the 251!!!" I miss the GBW and my favorite uncle is Uncle Pete. Uncle Pete eats Space Noodles for breakfast.
