Just my thoughts, ideas, opinions and experiences. Others may vary.

 HO and N Scale.

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

Check out Evergreen Scale Models in your Walthers; they list a 6" X 12" sheet of clapboard siding with courses ranging from (scale) 5" to 16". These sheets are (scale) 6" thick so should allow for stand-alone construction.

Most decent hobby shops should have a rack of Evergreen styrene sheet and strips. I've used Tichy and Grandt Line windows and doors in HO, you can see if they have them in N scale as well.

For scratchbuilding supplies you might try Clover House or Craftsman Specialty Supply; the latter was always the definitive source for I-can't-find-it-anywhere-else modeling. I once had one of their catalogs--circa 1973--and when I called them sometime in the '80s about a more recent one they informed me that the one which I had was the most recent but if I ever needed anything I could call and place an order.

Mr GOOGLE still lists them as doing business at 989-734-3184.

I have recentally built the Glacier Gravel Co. and Valley Growers Association in N scale, they turned out pretty good but need an office building. I am thinking of scratch building them. I am wanting some clap board styrene to start, where can I find it? Also I used to use some HO doors and windows from Tichy Train (I think) do they make doors and windows in N scale? is there another good source? What abou corigated (SP) metal for roofs & walls and/or shingled roofs?

What are your opinions on where to get N scale scratch building supplies?     Thanks.    Mike
