Thanks for the heads-up on isopropyl alcohol.  I have a couple of Spectrum kitbashes that need their original numbers and railroad ID removed (a patch job would have been most unlikely, given my prototype.)

Changing loco numbers
Posted by fishplate on Saturday, January 17, 2009 9:25 PM

I have two Spectrum Decapods and would like to change the last two #'s one one loco. I would like to remove these digits rather than paint over them. The reason I ask is because not all methods work on all manufactors ink or paint. Any experiance on the Spectrum series would be appreciated.

Just finished the removal of said #'s. Isopropyl alcohol and a pencil eraser worked. Patience is the key.
