Intermountain Tank Car Repair Question
Posted by jxtrrx on Saturday, January 17, 2009 12:43 PM

I recently picked up 6 beautiful tank cars made by Intermountain.  These are great, very well detailed, smooth rolling cars.  To my eye, top quality stuff.

But... (there's always a but) one of the couplers (it looks to me like they're Kadee #5s - how nice!) had fallen off in the box.  The little plate that goes over the coupler housing is a rubber-ish piece with just a small point on it that goes into the cylinder in the middle of the coupler.  No screws, no clamps.  Is this supposed to hold by friction ('cuz it doesn't)?

Anybody ever repair or replace a coupler on an Intermoutain piece?
