Semi-simultaneously

[1] Stripped and repainting / Metalizing 4 HO Bachmann Metroliners into Penn Central.

[2] Installing "see thru" grill and radiators on a War Bonnet Athearn FP45. Tedious, so I'm working slowly. This will be the first locomotive to receive the new Soundtraxx "Tsunami" decoder when it comes out this summer.

[3] Tuning up all HO freight cars (Kd coupler repairs, remove roofwalks, Install P2k wheelsets)

But then again, years ago I spent all my spare time being a "stressed out workaholic". Thank God, this is much better! [swg][tup][:D][:)][8D][^][8)]

Finishing laying the mainline track, and wiring it. I work on locos when I have time - installing decoders and lubing them. Should have the main done in another month or so.

I've been drawing plans and framing a 24' x 32 'model railroad room in the basement of my new home. Layout is in the planning stages - a southeastern shortline sorta based on the former L&N "hook & eye line" between Marietta GA. thru Blue Ridge, GA and onto defunct Southern Murphy Branch @ Murphy, NC to Asheville, NC. It will be a bridge route with significant online industries esp marble quarries, copper mining and timber products. Presently am rewriting history to make this plausible!

A model of "KING OF CLUBS" bar, for the backdrop of my "X Street" project layout. It's turning out a little too plain and I may junk it for the Woodland Scenics "Rocky's Tavern" model, but it may work out in the end...

My work bench is very cluttered. I actually have added those easy stack shelving from walmart to assist in the overflow.

I just got into the logging and ore business with a new MDC Shay and cars. It will be some time before they are ready for the rails. I am finishing my slab steel loads by chains on Athearn Heavy duty flats. My new airslide grain and material (Flour, seeds etc) are being lettered for the fictional "Cold Harbor Coop" And Cold Harbor is going to be my first town. I suppose planning the town square, waterfront and plastic citizens are going to be alot of fun.

I just finished my set of 6 Athearn Box cars equipped with wooden doors and loads such as corn, wheat and grains for the feed mill as well as a coop. Walthers Midstate Marble is my next building project. Metal Wheelsets threaten to create a pile of plastic wheelsets that are going to have to be dealt with.

My version of a HO scale harbor continues to evolve as I acquire kits after much thought and planning. It will feature a seafood operation, shipyard and possibly a fruit pier much like the one at city docks in Philadelphia. I am basically finished with acquiring steam engines and will be looking at one or two deisel sets before my roster is completed.

Finally construction will begin on a 1x5 foot "Timesaver" using snap track and possibly some small buidlings and scenery as a test bed/learning tool. I am beginning to eye some areas of the house for potentail running of trains.

I also spend some time at the local hobby shop for advice, information and so forth.

Right now it is an N Scale Norh island refinery kit with all 1000 parts and small print exploded view instruction sheet only on step 3 of 6 in the past week hope to complete by this weekend

Currently I am resurrecting an Alco Models Baldwin RF-16 Shark. I've already removed the pittman style motor, replaced it with a can and a flywheel. Also I've added 8 wheel pickup (it only had pickup on 4 originally) and added a DCC decoder. Ran it this weekend on the club layout and it ran great![:D] New horns, grabs, wipers, etc. all coming this week. Next week, Paint!
D&H 1205 will live again![^]

My "current" projects are what ever i pick up when find time to I sit down at my workbench!

Right now its building a new scrathbuilt cab for my second hand LGB Stainz german loco, that german cab just made me sick to my stomach, so I'm coverting it to a US gypsy style engine!

Too many projects to mention! cant seem to focus on just one thing as theres too much stuff to do!

Finishing up a pair of home road U30Cs (paint, details, decals, motor & weather) and another U30C that I just did the paint and letter on for Guilford (B&M) #663....the lone U30C in the GRS. Then I need to decal a few home road freight cars I painted......and while I'm at it I'll probably build up a couple of Athearn blue boxes that I got on the cheap this weekend and give them the treatment (wheels, couplers and weathering).

The layout's on the back burner for the time being, since the weather is starting to warm up. Since I don't have a spray booth (yet), I've started all those painting projects I've put off all winter!

I've got a big pile O' cars to get done, hopefully before the end of the month. So far this month, for me and friends, I've painted seven Soo Line passenger cars, two Soo boxcars, one Soo caboose, two Soo steamers, and three well-hole flatcars. Still in the pipeline are nine Life Like Northeastern cabooses (LV), three containers (NS), four steamers (IC), two RS-1's (CV), Three steamers (C&NW), and seven resin boxcars (the only thing on this list that's mine!). Good thing decalling doesn't scare me...

Oh, most of this stuff is N scale. I've discovered that very few N scalers actually know how to paint and decal stuff. I think they've been pampered by M-T too long! (I model in N too)

You mean today? LOL! Let's see, in the past two weeks, I've decaled some frieght cars, actually finished a few projects cluttering up the workbench, painted some figures, and right at the moment I'm installing handrails on some Athearn locos, and I think tomorrow I'll be putting some "glass" in the windows of two bay window cabeese. The big project for April is a stack of undec kits waiting in the paint shop for a coat of UP MOW green to become part of a work train.

Maybe that makes it sound as if I have a short attention span, but there are so many things I enjoy doing, it's hard to pick just one. Although that does tend to leave me with 1,048 projects-in-progress, but at least I've always got a choice of what I want to work on next [(-D]

Building and weathering buildings to populate the town, moving around the corner and expanding the track, and just shuffling some cars back and forth. Can't wait until I get enough track down to start operations.

The subroad bed work is done, the roadbed crew is late getting to the jobsite pushing the completion date back several weeks. I might have to fire them! [;)]

Planning a scratch built industry to hide the fact that a track ends at the edge of the bench work (edge of the world???) when it is the lead for a steel fabicator beyond the end of the layout..

I just finished detailing a caboose, and now I am starting to add details and a scratchbuilt unloading shed to a Rix grain elevator, and finishing off another small scene on my layout.

I'm working on converting a new Rivarossi Pacific into a CNJ Blue Comet Pacific G3S and slowly buying up Bethlehem car works passenger cars to model the rest of the Comet. All this after finding out the Rivarossi Blue comet pass set I bought is totally inaccurate!!!![:0][:(!][xx(]
