Maybe you can grind your nut driver past the chamfer,or get an allen bolt with a 3mm hex hole in it?

Where to Find Thin Wall Flush Face 3mm Nut Driver?
Posted by TankedEngine on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 10:12 PM

I have been working on hex head valve gear hangar bolts & found my current nut driver is not suitable as the inner face has too much lead in chamfer.

Before it can get a grip on the 3mm hex head bolt it hits the valve gear behind the bolt head.

Because it has to get on to a hex head bolt that has a flange very close to it I need a 'thin  wall/non chamfered' 3mm nut driver.

Anyone know where such an item is available?

Or, alternatively, what do others use to unbolt valve gear hex head bolts??

Thanks

Tanked
