Should be able to use an audio-taper potentiometer in series in the line, but I have no idea of the values to use.  Might check with somebody who knows audio setups.

MRC Symphony 77 volume control...
Posted by Rob on Thursday, December 25, 2008 9:37 PM

Merry Christmas,

The MRC 77 sound system was one of my gifts.  It sounds great, but only one speaker has an adjustable volume...the one with the horn/whistle is extremely loud.  The manual says this side is a fixed volume, but I'm hoping there is some way to work something out and get it lowered because I have a tiny layout and this thing blows stuff off the track and is way beyond a comfortable level for anybody within 15 feet or so.  The speakers that come with the unit are similar to something on a home computer set-up...I was wondering if there is any type of volume control device I can buy to splice in to the speaker cable and not have to break into the electronics or use another compatable computer type speaker that has a volume knob.  Hopefully there is something that will work because this set-up is really nice.

Thanks for the help and enjoy the season!
