i have been using a model vl pasche for as long as i can remember and am totally satisfied with the results. only problem i ever had was my fault. i bent a needle and had to go get a new one from a paint supply store in the city. i am sure other brands are decent but i never had a reason to try any. you might want to give some serious consideration to your air supply. if you do not, then no airbrush will work as well as it should. most of the little compressors have a bit of a pulse unless you use a reservoir of some type to smooth out the air flow. i use an old freon tank that i altered to serve the purpose. an accurate pressure regulator is a must along with a good filter and moister trap.

Paache VL complete kit $65 with shipping. Your gonna pay twice that price from Hobbytown.http://www.dixieart.com/Paasche_VL_VLSTPRO_Airbrush.htmlYou could also get a Model H for $35-$59 depending on the kit. The VL is better for weathering though.http://www.dixieart.com/HSet.html
hey guys... my parents keep bugging me about what I want for Christmas. I really don't WANT anything, but since they keep insisting, I thought that getting an airbrush would be a big addition for me.
I'm not looking for anything crazy expensive... just something that works good that can get me started. Basically, I'm looking to be able to paint my track and weather stuff with it, by spraying wayyy thinned-down washes of paint.
I have a Hobbytown locally, so if you guys know anything they typically stock, then all the better.
