Repowering N-Scale Big Boy

I am hoping someone out there can help. I have a Rivarossi/Con-Cor N scale Big Boy with a burned out motor. It is the older style round motor that is no longer available from Con-Cor. I am checking with Golf Manor Hobbies, the Rivarossi parts center, but so far, no luck.
Does anyone know of a suitable repowering solution or if the new style eliptical motor will fit?
This engine is in otherwise mint condition and I would like to get it running again. Please help!

May be a shot in the dark but I'll give it a try...just in case. There's a Rivarossi steam engine motor for sale on eBay that possibly could fit your Big Boy,if you haven't remotored it yet.Look at eBay,for item no.3190610379.You could get it for $15.+ship. and offer ends May5-21.00PDT.Hope it helps.

Ray,
You didn't give the dimensions of the burned out motor, but have you checked out
NorthWest Short Line's
offerings ? Their URL is:
http://www.nwsl.com
Their hard copy catalogue might be available for viewing at your LHS, or you could buy a copy if you have some other projects ahead. Their motor section starts on page 857 in the 2004
Walther's
catalog, but that isn't as useful as
NWSL's
catalog.

Just in case there is anyone else out there with a failed N scale Big Boy motor, contact the Motorman, Eldon Shirey. His email is motorman2x@msn.com. The frame will need some modification, but he has all kinds of remotoring options!

Ray:
As mentioned above I'd contact Northwest Shortline ( www.NWSL.com ) via email and ask them. Be sure to include any model numbers or perhaps dimensions. They make many sizes of remotor kits, which include a gear tower as well. Also you can download a copy of the catalog online if you want.
