I will also be thankful if the model train gremlins stay away from the layout while I am showing it off to our comapny !!!!  Whistling

Boy you are really a believer in hope over experience aren't you?

One of the things I think we should do this day is tender our thanks to those founding fathers two centuries ago who gave us a political system that works flawlessly i.e. whether we are happy with the results of our recent election or not it is not going to take a tank to remove one chief executive from the White House in order to install his replacement therein,

I would also like to pick up on a previous thread and extend a heartfelt thanks to those members of our armed forces who have volunteered their services to defending this country. Wherever they might be on this 27th day of November in the year of our Lord two thousand and eight may they spend this day in safety.

The train room is picked up and the workbench is cleaned ready to be set for the family dinner. A blessed thanksgiving to you all. A pic from the gathering a couple years ago.

Yes Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, especially my wife who is a Lenape' Bear Clan tradition and history keeper. She too has done much to help out this yankee.

Including a ten foot long escarpment made of shale and a millstone quarry.

Yeah yeah "suck up". Hey, I know where my bread is buttered ...

Now with a bit of luck this will post at exactly midnight.

Happy holidays to all!  Let us give thanks for the Indian Squanto, without whom the Pilgrims would be no more important than the Vikings to North American history.  http://www.nativeamericans.com/Squanto.htm

And a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you !  My wife and I will be heading over to my nephew and neices house, I'll make sure I take my low carb bread, and light mayonaise (turkey sandwiches) and some sugar free jello and light coolwhip, just a dab, I can have all the veggies I want.  I'm still lookin' forward to it, even with the diabetes. Aren't these mature years a blast. Have a good day everyone !

Den.

Boiler-man

Thanksgiving is extra special this year as it is the wife's and my anniversary (36 years), she is fixing the dinner and our son and his wife will be over with our grand son for the feast.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Apparently 1972 was a good year for you (and your wife). Congrats on the anniversary AND being blessed with an extended family!

Sad to say, fewer and fewer marriages last as long as has yours. All the more reason for you to be thankful.

Just avoid the mashed potatoes, the gravy, the stuffing, the cranberry, the rolls, the dinner mints, and the pumpkin pie. Everything else is OK!!!  Oh yeah, remember to go easy on the turkey, too.

In all seriousness, everyone have a thankful and happy Thanksgiving. Be sure to extend a special "thanks" to those among us who have to work on the holiday - mostly for the convenience of those of us who don't.....

AND, thanks to God for this great nation and the freedoms with which we're blessed.

Yes indeed, Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. Let's all be sure to pause tomorrow to thank those serving our country in uniform who are far from home this holiday season.
