I use washes in combination with dullcote and powder weathering all the time. It helps vary the effects.

Fom this side of the screen, LOOKS GOOD!

I'm a pastel chalk guy myself. Also do freight car fading since the application
is reversible if it doesn't turn out.

I'm a complete rookie and have never weathered anything, so my opinion may not mean much... but it looks like a good first try to me. What process did you use? Paint, chalk, other??
