Road numbers
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, March 25, 2004 9:21 PM
I just picked up a SP&S boxcar and I want to get another one but the road numbers are the same. I don't pay too close attention to detail but
(my layout is loosely inspired by the SP&S)
those road numbers seem obvious. Can you change them with a kit easily?
or just space them out along the train?

pencil eraser, srubb vigorously, usually comes off without messing with the paint, then apply your new number with decals.

To add to what DANO said, if the roadnumber is stubborn, sometimes a little micro sol will help, but don't add to much.

Somewhere else on these boards it was mentioned that Castrol Super Clean will remove the lettering but not the underlying paint. It was also mentioned it is available at Walmart but I haven't had a chance to confirm either staement.
