Well Dano, my computer is in the office on the main floor, and my "layout" (basically a loop of track) is in the basement, on the floor [:(]. Right now, I'm trying to get the hand rails on my FEF-3, only they're bent the wrong way. I don't no if I should bend them myself or send them back. Any suggestions?

Dano, no basement here, I only wish I had a basement to flood. If I did my layout could be bigger my living room wouldn't look like Barbie town[:D]

Dano, I'm not currently in a club. If I was it would probably be Central Ohio S Gaugers. There very helpful group. I'm not in a club right now because I would feel like I was letting the club down by lack of attendence. The forums keep me involved to fill that void. I missed the last show at the fairgrounds due to work.
Haven't started my layout but I guess you could say the bench works started, the layout will sit on some kind of elabrat built-in cabinets in my home office the lower cabinets are just about completed.

Oh God do I wish I had an Allegheny. In the realm of steam I only have a mike(2-8-2). #2365 Athrean Genisis. It's a nice engine runs SUPER quiet, I'm looking to get a speaker for it. [8D]

I'd like to have more steam in my fleet but my layout isn't quite made for steam I have a ton of 18 inch curves, some steam doesn't go around them well. BUT I can run an Allegheny on the club layout that I belong to (minimum radius of 46") There's a guy there that runs a bigboy all the time, though it's an older model and is really loud it sure looks nice.

My fleet is mostly GP7's and 9's (the two engines C&O had a ton of). Needless to say I'm a fan of high hoods. [:)]

How about you and everyone else? Whats your project right now while talking on the forum?

and oh, here's what I meant about those crazy carmen, they clean the hoppers but not the boxcars:



Tonight's project is two-fold: Work on finishing a farm house so that a patch of land doesn't look like a football field and keep my ear peeled because my wife is due anytime now. The "other" engineer in the house is about ready to grace us with his presence. [:)]

SO, what's everyone else doing on their layout right now??

or are we camping out in front of the TV or computer on this forum??

I work em' overtime, but they still seem to miss a few, actually they don't clean the boxcars ( guess they just don't like the boxcars), just the hoppers, gondola's and flats. [:)]

They're starting to slack off on the locomotives as well.... gonna have to get a new crew.

I live in "hotel mummy" so my room is not big. I have only one desk where i work on my trains and on my computer. So i can detail an engine and write a message.

In a half year or so, i will move in my own appartment...

no not unless i'm on my dads laptop which happens very rarely. But if digitrax counts um then i'm always on the computer when i'm workin on the layout. BTW nice pics dano how bout some more?

Looks like there's alot of work to do in that basement too, man you must really have to clean the layout after you use that saw. i can sense the sawdust all over the place already! [:p]

My computer has always been in the kitchen. I come onto it when I'm stuck or frustrated, which by the number of posts would indicate this happens frequently.

With the new computer we now have the old one in the basement but it isn't hooked upto the net........ Yet!

I find that if I have a distraction when I want to work on the railroad, I usually end up doing whatever distracted me. If I have no distractions, then I get more accomplished & better quality of work from myself at the same time.

at work = home I am never more than 10 ft away from those computer things ( another hobby : collecting computers )
always that forum distraction, I should work right now, because I am in "work-mode" but if I swing my chair around I am facing my "model workbench - desk" as I look to my right I see a big open space asking for benchwork.

I'm building a 24 X 32 layout in my basement right next to my in-home cabinet shop. It will be but a 2 x4 and two sheets of drywall away. Hope I can get some work done!

My last layout was a 12' x 14' set up in the garage. I got sick of having to park the cars outside all the time so I tore it down. I was getting bored with it.

I'm looking to make a much smaller layout now, 4' x 8' or 5' x 9' but spend more time on scenery, structure detail, weathering, etc.
