Try your local Ikea, it will only be in a 2x4x1 box  Big Smile [:D]

(I know, Ikea is not Norwegian.......)

Dang!  I wish my layout would do that!  I'd do ALL the grocery shopping!  Great commercial!

And notice that the model railroader was a young hip guy, not some socially crippled loner or scheming psychopath. Hollywood really suffers from a dearth of imagination.

Gotta Love It!!!Bow [bow]

And now - when was the last time you saw a model train in a domestic commercial???Confused [%-)]

Out here in the Dessicated Desert, far from NS and CSX home territory, we don't even get 1:1 scale trains, unless you count the inane, "Training a Clydesdale," Budweiser commercial...Laugh [(-D]

Incredibly clever and witty.  I enjoyed it a lot.  American commercials could learn something from this and possibly take us out of the 'niche' and more into the 'mainstream' with some advertising featuring our hobby at this level.

I really enjoyed it!

Nice to see trains being used in a positive light Big Smile [:D]

Kiwi's ad agency SMFB picked up a couple of prizes this year - one for an earlied ad in the Kiwi "a penny here, a penny there" campaign.

The model train ad might be in the running for a silver fish next year. Sound track on the ad is Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" from the 1980 Album "Blizzard of Oz".

According to a press release from the ad agency, they consulted with Norwegian model railroader Styrkar Bråthen (http://www.styrkar.com/), who also built the models used.

Styrkar also makes the layout that the Norwegian embassy in Washington sets up every christmas in the Union Station in Washington, DC.

I was trying to think of a funny comment but then it hit me how very true that statement is. I wonder where the marketing company got the idea for that commercial? Jamie

That was good, Victor. Smile [:)]Thumbs Up [tup]  And how true to the point that it takes money to build a layout...and whatever you have to do to save pennies here and there in order to afford hobby items is always a plus.  Thanks for posting the link.
