Soundtraxx
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, March 22, 2004 9:44 PM
Soundtraxx keeps pushing up their date on their new line of surround sound coming out. Now they say it will be the end of 2004, before it will be on the market. Is there another existing market comprible to Soundtraxx, or am I going to have to wait? I have a fortune tied up in a new DCC system and wanted this type off-board surround sound system. Any help appeciated.

I hear you Roger,

I know what you mean, it is a little frustrating. Currently Soundtraxx is it!
Soundtraxx, like other DCC manufacturers was affected by the MTH Lawsuit. I posted a detailed thread regarding this lawsuit back in February.

For good detailed info, e-mail: www.MrDCC@litchfieldstation.com

Bruce has been very helpful to model railroaders in answering Soundtraxx and other DCC related questions as he knows the managers and owners personally.

Don't give up, hang in there!

Actually Roco do sound too

and now MRC also play in the DCC market with a low-end product. I'm waiting on delivery from Tony's www.ttx-dcc.com

and there are any number of proprietary (non-DCC-compatible) systems eg PFM

Hello Robengland.

You're correct about Roco and MRC offering sound, however, (and unfortunately) they don't offer the higher quality and variety of horns/whistles that Soundtraxx offers, which is what I think Roger was seeking when he wrote "comparable".

It is irritable having to wait, hopefully it won't be for too long! At least the Tsunami is scheduled for release this summer. Bruce did indicate that it's worth the wait!

BTW: What are you modeling? Steam or diesel?

Peace out!
